OTD February 26th - Black History Month
#OTD in 2012, Trayvon Martin was racially profiled, pursued and murdered by George Zimmerman. His death and the subsequent not guilty verdict sparked nationwide outrage, protest, resisted, and the Black Lives Matter Movement and organization began.
Use today's resources to teach this now. They include lesson plans centered on President Obama's 2013 speech about racial violence and the Stand Your Ground Law used as a defense in the trial.
