OTD February 9th - Black History Month

#OTD in 1960, the home of Carlotta Walls, the youngest member of the Little Rock 9, was bombed. Thankfully no one was physically injured, and Carlotta, with strength and grace, graduated from Central High School later that year.

But history is complex, and this isn't the end of the story. Herbert Monts, a Black man from Carlotta's neighborhood was falsely accused of the crime and a confession was brutally coerced from him. He spent 58 years in prison until he was pardoned in 2018. This is another representation of the injustice of our justice system and the need to look deeply at the wounds of our past in order to move forward well.
